Your monitored website, settings, and check history stay on your Mac. This page is short because MonoBar does very little with data — here is all of it, stated plainly.

Everything stays on your Mac

Your monitored website, settings, and check history are stored locally, in ~/Library/Application Support/MonoBar/. There is no MonoBar account, no cloud dashboard, and no sync. Delete the folder and the data is gone.

No telemetry

MonoBar sends nothing about you, your Mac, or your usage to us — because there is no "us" server to send it to. The app contains no analytics, no crash reporting, and no tracking of any kind.

The only network requests MonoBar makes

  1. Checking your website. MonoBar requests the public HTTPS site you configured, from your Mac, on the schedule you chose. That's the product.
  2. Optional provider status. If you enable Provider Status, MonoBar fetches the official public status feeds from Anthropic and OpenAI. Off by default; leave it off and those requests never happen.

That is the complete list. Checks run only while MonoBar is open and monitoring is active. Quit the app and all activity stops.

No credentials

MonoBar never asks for your website's passwords, API keys, or tokens, and rejects URLs with embedded credentials. One honest note: the URL you configure is stored as you typed it — so don't put secret tokens in a monitored URL.

monobar.app itself follows the same philosophy: no analytics, no cookies, no third-party requests.
